PM SVANidhi Yojana 2.0
PM SVANidhi offers eligible street vendors collateral-free working-capital loans up to ₹50,000 in stages.
Eligibility: Eligible street vendors verified through local urban authorities.
What Is PM SVANidhi Yojana?
Prime Minister Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) is a Government of India scheme that provides access to working-capital loans for eligible street vendors. Launched on 1 June 2020, it aims to help vendors access formal credit, maintain their businesses and build a financial transaction history.
The scheme operates through the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, financial institutions and local urban authorities.
In August 2025, the Government approved a restructuring of PM SVANidhi. Under the updated framework, the first, second and third loan tranches offer up to ₹15,000, ₹25,000 and ₹50,000 respectively. The lending period has been extended until 31 March 2030.
PM SVANidhi is a repayable business loan scheme, not a free cash grant.
PM SVANidhi Loan Amount and Repayment Period
Loans are provided progressively, with access to subsequent tranches depending on successful repayment and applicable eligibility checks.
| Loan trancheMaximum loanRepayment period | ||
| First | ₹15,000 | 12 months |
| Second | ₹25,000 | 18 months |
| Third | ₹50,000 | 36 months |
A vendor who successfully repays the first tranche may be considered for the second, while successful repayment of the second is important for accessing the third. The lending institution assesses the application before approval.
The maximum ₹50,000 loan should not be interpreted as an amount automatically available to every first-time borrower.

Who Is Eligible for PM SVANidhi?
PM SVANidhi primarily supports qualifying street vendors who sell goods or services in urban areas.
Examples of potentially eligible activities include:
- Vegetable and fruit vending.
- Street food stalls and mobile food carts.
- Vending clothes or everyday household items.
- Street-side cobbling and personal services.
- Other qualifying mobile or temporary street vending activities.
Eligibility is determined under the official framework, including identification or verification by the relevant Urban Local Body (ULB).
Restructured PM SVANidhi coverage is also being expanded in phases to certain census towns, peri-urban areas and other identified locations. Applicants should confirm whether their area is currently covered.
Street Vendor Identification and Verification
Local urban authorities have an important role in identifying eligible street vendors. Depending on the case, relevant documentation may include a Certificate of Vending, vendor identity card or Letter of Recommendation.
Applicants without existing vending records should contact their municipal authority or other authorised local office to understand the currently applicable verification process.
Having a roadside stall does not automatically guarantee loan eligibility or approval.
PM SVANidhi Interest Subsidy and Digital Cashback
The scheme provides an interest subsidy under prescribed conditions for eligible borrowers. Timely loan repayment and applicable official requirements can affect the benefit.
Digital transaction incentives are also available to encourage the use of electronic payments. Under the restructured framework, eligible retail and wholesale digital transactions can qualify for cashback of up to ₹1,600 in total, subject to transaction-specific and time-related limits.
This cashback is not an automatic lump-sum payment to every vendor.
UPI-Linked RuPay Credit Card Under PM SVANidhi
Qualifying vendors who have successfully repaid their second PM SVANidhi loan tranche can be considered for a UPI-linked RuPay Credit Card.
The card may offer a credit limit of up to ₹30,000, depending on lender eligibility checks and terms.
Card access, credit limit, interest and repayment arrangements are determined under the applicable financial institution's rules. It should not be confused with a cash grant.
