PM Kisan eKYC Done but Payment Pending? Check DBT Seeding

PM Kisan eKYC completed, but the instalment has not arrived?

Completing PM Kisan eKYC is an important step, but it does not mean that an expected ₹2,000 instalment will be credited immediately. A farmer can pass identity verification and still need to resolve a bank-mapping issue or a separate scheme-side verification. The key is to distinguish PM Kisan eKYC, Aadhaar bank seeding, NPCI mapping and beneficiary payment status rather than treating them as one process.

This guide is for registered beneficiaries who want to identify the next sensible check. It is not a repeat of the general scheme eligibility rules, and it does not promise a payment date. Government verification and the applicable rules determine whether a particular instalment is payable.

PM Kisan eKYC vs Aadhaar bank seeding: the difference

What does PM Kisan eKYC verify?

eKYC confirms the registered beneficiary's identity through the approved authentication process. The official PM-KISAN website says eKYC is mandatory for registered farmers. Government guidance describes OTP-based verification, biometric authentication through authorised centres and supported face-authentication options. A completed eKYC status is useful evidence of identity verification, not proof that every banking or land-record check is complete.

What is Aadhaar bank seeding?

Aadhaar bank seeding is a banking process used to enable an eligible account to receive Aadhaar-based Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) payments. With the customer's consent and the bank's verification, the Aadhaar number is associated with the relevant bank and recorded in the NPCI mapper. This is different from simply entering an Aadhaar number in a bank's normal customer-KYC record.

What does the NPCI mapper do?

The NPCI mapper identifies the bank associated with an Aadhaar number for Aadhaar-based benefit transfers. If a person has more than one bank account, the bank recorded for DBT may not be the bank they were expecting. UIDAI explains that the beneficiary can approach the bank and provide the applicable consent/mandate to request seeding for the chosen account. A change of bank should be checked rather than assumed to be automatic.

Five checks to make when PM Kisan payment is pending

Step 1: Confirm whether the relevant instalment was released

Start at the official PM-KISAN website. A national instalment announcement does not prove that the money has reached your account. Avoid using a predicted release date from social media as a payment confirmation. Note which instalment and financial year you are checking.

Step 2: Review the PM Kisan beneficiary record

Open Know Your Status. Use the registration number and whatever captcha or verification details the live form requests. Check the available eKYC indicator and payment-related information. If the record points to pending land verification or another eligibility check, a bank visit alone may not resolve it.

Step 3: Check Aadhaar bank seeding separately

UIDAI provides a Bank Seeding Status facility through myAadhaar. UIDAI notes that the seeding information displayed there is obtained from NPCI. The NPCI seeding-status service is another authorised route. Follow each site's current authentication requirements. If the result is unavailable or unclear, ask the bank for confirmation.

Step 4: Ask your bank about NPCI DBT mapping

Instead of asking only whether Aadhaar is linked, specifically ask whether the account you intend to use is seeded for Aadhaar-based DBT in the NPCI mapper. If the mapping is inactive or points to a different bank, ask the bank for its consent/mandate and correction process. Also check whether the account is active and eligible to receive such credits. Do not disclose OTPs or banking passwords to anyone claiming to release a government instalment.

Step 5: Escalate scheme-side issues to the correct authority

If the eKYC and bank seeding indicators appear fine but the instalment is still not credited, return to the official scheme record. Land ownership details, family eligibility, exclusions, verification holds and release processing may require review. Use the real status message and your registration reference when contacting the designated agriculture or revenue office or another authorised support channel. Correct existing records rather than submitting duplicate registrations.

Four common payment-status situations explained

eKYC complete, Aadhaar seeding inactive

The identity check may be done while the DBT banking arrangement remains incomplete. Ask your bank for the approved seeding process and confirm the updated status afterward.

Seeding active, but no instalment received

An active bank mapping does not itself mean a beneficiary is eligible for a given instalment or that a transfer has been released. Check the government payment and verification records before drawing a conclusion.

The NPCI status shows a different bank

That may be the bank currently mapped for Aadhaar-based transfers. Contact the relevant bank and ask how to verify or change the intended DBT arrangement. Do not conclude that a payment was lost without checking transaction details.

All statuses seem correct, yet the statement has no credit

Compare the government release notice, the beneficiary payment reference if one is displayed, and the dates on your bank statement. Use any official transaction reference when raising the issue with the bank or the responsible department.

Common mistakes to avoid

Do not register again under a slightly different name, pay an unofficial 'instalment release fee', enter identity details on a lookalike website or share OTPs in messaging groups. If you change banks, verify where Aadhaar-based DBT is mapped. Keep a dated note of the status you saw, because updates across systems may not appear instantly.

Frequently asked questions

Does eKYC completion guarantee that PM Kisan payment will arrive?

No. It establishes one verification step. Applicable eligibility, banking and payment conditions still matter.

Is Aadhaar linked with a bank account the same as NPCI seeding?

Not necessarily. Ordinary bank KYC linking and DBT mapping are distinct, so request confirmation of the NPCI mapper status.

Where can I check PM Kisan DBT bank seeding?

Use UIDAI's myAadhaar Bank Seeding Status facility, an authorised NPCI service or confirmation from your bank.

Why is the instalment pending when both eKYC and seeding are active?

Scheme eligibility, land verification, an instalment release or other checks may still be pending. Review Know Your Status.

Will moving to a new bank automatically redirect DBT payments?

Do not assume so. Ask the banks to confirm the chosen Aadhaar-based DBT mapping and required mandate.
